Junji Kimura has been working hard to respond to Herb Reicherts' comment, products that "sound 2/3 as good for 1/4 the price?" Shigaraki is the first of Junjis' answer. Only instead of "2/3 as good", he promises "4/5 as good!"
Shigaraki has almost the same circuitry as the Progression DAC. It's non-oversampling, no digital nor analog filter, with passive I/V conversion.
Another feature is the casing. Both the DAC unit and the power supply are encased in a casing made out of Shigaraki ceramic, which has been used to make tea cups and vases for nearly one thousand years in Japan. It's totally de-electric and non-conductive character contributes to Shigarakis' smooth,
open sound.
